Movie: Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs

Synopsis: "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" is an animated film released on September of 2009. Phil Lord and Christopher Miller directed this movie. It is loosely base on the children's book of the same name. Voice cast includes Bill Hader, Anna Farris, James Caan, Bruce Campbell, Mr. T and Neil Patrick Harris. The film is about an enthusiastic inventor, Flint Lockwood, who attracts disaster with his odd inventions. When his town started to suffer with its food supply, he created a machine that will turn water into any kind of food. Accidentally, his invention flew to the Earth's stratosphere. This resulted to different kinds of food raining down on the town. But when the machine started to malfunction, giant pieces of food started to destroy the town. It is now up to Flint to save the day from this delicious weather.

Review: Who would have thought that there could be a film about giant meatballs attacking Earth? The plot of the film is funny to start with. I haven't read the book of which this is loosely based on but it didn't stop me from enjoying this crazy movie. There are a lot of characters here that would make you laugh in different ways. I liked Flint's scenes wherein he does all this inventing stuff with a one-word step-by-step procedure. His monkey, Steve, became annoying and funny at the same time. Mr. T's character, Officer Earl, who keeps on harassing him, provides some quick-witted lines. There are moral values in this film which makes it a must-watch for children. There is even a touching father-son moment at the end.

Score: 8/10... "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" is a fun-filled animated movie that will surely make anybody laugh with its colorful characters and crazy plot. This is a movie that could be enjoyed not only by kids but also by adults.
