The 12th Friday the 13th

 By Starman

Movie: Friday the 13th

Synopsis: "Friday the 13th" is a horror film which serves as a reboot of the original film series. It is directed by Marcus Nispel (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Pathfinder). Jared Padalecki, star of the TV show "Supernatural", is the main protagonist of the film. With him are Danielle Panabaker (Sky High) and Amanda Righetti (The Mentalist). Trent, along with his friends, took a vacation on his summer cabin which is at Crystal Lake. A man named Clay Miller who is in search of his sister makes his way to the cabin and meets the group. They are all unaware of the events that took place in the camp. Now, the dreaded Jason Voorhees is back to lash out his anger on everyone for the death of his mother.

Review: The movie is the reimagining of the first four Friday the 13th films. It starts with a flashback from when Jason sees his mother being beheaded. This is a movie that is no different from other horror slasher films. It has nothing new to serve. All the characters play the clichéd role everyone would expect to find. I guess the characters were not able to see Randy's "Rule for Surviving a Horror Movie" from "Scream", which I must say is the best slasher film. Aaron Yoo provided some laughs with his doomed character. Though it has no unique element in it, you would still be satisfied by the screams it would produce.

Score: 5/10... Friday the 13th is your typical slasher film. It is nothing new but it would still satisfy the fans of this genre.
