Not So Horrible At All

Movie: Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog

Synopsis: Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog is a short musical film distributed through the Internet in 2008. This was directed by Joss Whedon. He is mainly known for directing tv shows like The Office, the short-lived Dollhouse and everyone's favorite vampire slayer Buffy. It stars the always awesome Neil Patrick Harris, Felicia Day, Nathan Fillion and Simon Helberg(Wolowitz from Big Bang Theory). The story is about an evil doctor, Dr. Horrible, who has a mission to get inside the Evil League of Evil and win the girl of his dreams, Penny. But there is a very bumpy obstacle that he has to cross and it comes in the form of his rival, Captain Hammer.

Review: Who would have guessed that Doogie Howser, M.D. can sing? It was good to see Neil Patrick Harris play another character. He was always witty in his roles and this was no exception. Fillion did a great job antagonizing his superhero character. At the end of the show, you will probably root for the bad guy. The performance were also great. I did get bored at some of them especially the ones where Penny and the captain where serenading each other. The concept was good. I liked how he shares his evil demented plans to millions of viewers (including the cops).

Score: 7/10... Overall, this short film is worthy of watching. It has won a lot of awards and it stars Neil Patrick Harris, what more could you ask for?

I hope that the planned sequel for this short film will continue. It would be nice to know what happens after Dr. Horrible (spoiler!) gets into the Evil League of Evil.

There are three 14-minute acts. Here is a link for the first part of the short film.
